A Clockwork Orange Restyled

The Folio Society and off beat illustrator Ben Jones have united forces to produce a new edition of Anthony Burgess’s A Clockwork Orange, with disturbing results. Jones stated in interview that one thing he most enjoyed about the project, was that the work he produced could have “a subtle bit of menace to it”, which proves to be an understatement. The black leather
cover is embossed with the infamous Kubrick bowler hat and lashes, and contains heavily stylised macabre collages that bring to mind the old cartoons Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids, but in a 60’s collage style. It’s a beautiful piece of book art, perfectly arousing the unsettling atmosphere of its subject. Kubrick’s influence is clear, but rather than shy away from the notoriety of the directors retelling, he embraces its impact, stating ’”Kubrick is a big part of the book becoming immortal”. Here we give you a sneak peak at the incredible illustrations, or head here to buy the book.
