Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, DooF sounds like he has a pretty sweet life: splitting his time between making music and skateboarding. (Or in his words ’clipping curbs n spit a verse as heavy as ya grannies purse’). He set up rap collaboration “Bayce Cannibals”, including Escee tha Chemist, Drew Major, King Wyse, Cameron Butler, and Moon Matsimoto, and mixes up an early nineties, golden era, hip hop sound with mean lyrics. With such a strong talent, and tight beats it’s no coincidence our favourite track from earlier reviewed .idenfinite. by Ipkuss and ewonee thee beatnik features DooF. He skateboards for Commonthreads (ig:@commonthreads), Raufweil Brand(ig:@raufweil), and The Humble Collective(ig:@thehumblecollective). Go find him, he’s way cooler than we are.

What do you think are the important issues facing yourself, and your industry at the moment?
People lie too much. Care about money a lot. And me personally I don’t have much means to branch out to do what I want.

Have any relationships, friendships, business or otherwise, been significant in shaping your work as it is now?
Ehhh. I kinda like to reach out to a lot of producers. It’s really beneficial. Plus it’s awesome to discover great producers that nobody really hears.  Beatmakers are interesting people.

What is your favourite word?
“Fuck”. Or “Shittedon”. I just recently started trying to make that a word.

What would you do with the perfect Sunday afternoon?
Wake up to sex with some immaculate female. Have a cup of coffee. Go skate. Lurk around the city. Go to the river with homies and probably the same immaculate female I woke up to. Go home and write some shit maybe. Smoking weed happening a couple times throughout said activities.

And finally, who should Corinne& be profiling next?
Cameron Butler, The Satellite Syndicate, J’von. Y’all already got to Ipkuss. lol
