20 year-old Brightonian, Elli Ingram, has released her second EP and collaborated and toured with Chase & Status in just one short year. The smoky, soulful tone to her voice has had her compared with the likes of Adele and Amy Winehouse, but with a much more contemporary feel.

After working in a tea room in her hometown, Brighton, Ingram reluctantly left when she was signed to Island Records in July 2013. She returned, however, to photograph the cover of her latest EP, Sober.

In Annie Mac’s, Bedtime Mix on BBC Radio 1, Ingram selected Norah Jones and James Blake as her wind down tracks; two artists who are remarkably different and yet you can hear the influence from both her sound.

Sober demonstrates the musical range Ingram is capable of. From soft, poetic lyrics to alternative production that sets her music apart from her ‘pop’ contemporaries, she has really nailed a sound that appeals to a wide, interested audience.
