For the first time last year, Glastonbury Festival (with a lot of help from Nomad Letterpress), published their first on site newspaper. But of course, every seven ton antique comes with it’s own set of problems. Which meant after a few teething problems, only one of two newspapers that were scheduled got printed. After a winter in hibernation at Worthy Farm, the Glastonbury Free Press returned for it’s second year, with a vengeance.
Typesetting and printing a four page tabloid twice over the weekend looked like a mean feat but they pulled it off with aplomb. In true Glastonbury spirit, Nomad’s expert printers were also on hand to create a few beautiful posters and offer visitors a chance to ink up and roll the press themselves.
Nomad Letterpress which works ‘under the same roof’ as Whittington Press host an annual celebration of printing on the first Saturday afternoon of September. To find out more see their website at nomadletterpress.com
