Seventeen year old Holly Lapsley Fletcher, also known as Låpsley, has been taking the Soundcloud airwaves by storm. After first hearing her single, Station, in Sohn’s mix on Annie Mac’s Sunday night show, I’ve been listening to her self produced track on repeat. With a sound inspired by James Blake and Bon Iver, Låpsley creates a soft, hyponotic melodies through heavy production and voice manipulation; both the male and female voices in her track are sung by herself to create a beautiful duet.

After being played on Annie’s show, Station was played over 500,000 times on Soundcloud, launching her into the blogosphere, featuring on the ‘ones to watch’ lists and winning the Getintothis Prize in her hometown of Liverpool. It won’t be long before a record deal and tour are on their way, so watch out for those intimate gigs while the crowd is still small.
