Lolawolf

New York residents, Lolawolf are the coolest kids to take on the Brookyln scene. But with daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, Zoe, as their lead singer, there is no chance these twenty-somethings could put a foot wrong. Lolawolf introduced themselves with their first single, Drive, which set their sound somewhere between 90’s indie rock and 90’s girl-garage, everything you could possibly want from a hipster band. But the deciding factor for me was the soulful, Wanna Know What Love Is, which followed.

With a successful acting career well under way and a musical legend for a father, it only seems natural Zoe would take the step into music. After landing a part in the indie film, The Road Within, Kravitz played an anorexic and had to get down to 90lbs. It was then Lolawolf was born. Her music became her therapy whilst trying to endure the emotional and physical toll the role put on her and in early 2013, Kravitz began playing with Reputante, a band signed to Julian Casablancas record label. What started with a few ‘jamming sessions’, it was never their intention to make it big. But with another EP already on it’s way, Lolawolf has intention of slowing down (despite her equally flourishing acting career). Look at for them performing gigs and festivals this summer and new releases on soundcloud.com/lolawolf.
