Songwriter Marika Hackman, a singer songwriter, sounds exactly as she looks. Young, beautiful and obviously brought up with Joni Mitchell and Stevie Nicks. Dreamy, soulful tunes sound like a soundtrack to a summery folk festival; Wilderness perhaps after a swim in the river whilst bathing in the Oxfordshire sun with a pint of… gin and tonic.

Hackman was classmates and briefly in a band with Cara Delevingne, so it probably won’t surprise you that she has already modelled/played for Burberry. Her already blossoming career is not however, a result of her connection to successful Beadles alumina (although Johnny Flynn was apparently instrumental in her record deal). Her melancholic voice and lyrics are off set with beautiful, awkward production that transcends her music beyond ordinary English folk.

Her latest album That Iron Taste is on Itunes, Spotify and Soundcloud. Download a free EP of covers by joining her mailing list or for more info and gigs check out
