Tucked just off of busy Regents Street is the stunning Pollen Street Social. This visit was just for drinks but I will definitely be back for some dinner. Taking a seat in the suave bar area the best view is to taken from the bar. A tidy back bar and an impressive wine cooler are evidence that what I’m about it experience is going to be pretty serious.

A whisky high flyer is a perfect blend of malt whisky and ginger that packed a spicy little punch. The professor, a mix of Chase smoked vodka and Kamm & Sons ginseng spirit, requires some input. Served with its own tools for perfect mixing this drink does require you to drink it from a bowl. So if your out to impress maybe avoid this one so you don’t look like a mad man with a desert bowl.

Following our cocktails a couple of sweet Calvados making a perfect digestif and a couple of espressos came accompanied by some beautiful petit fours, a nice addition end to our visit seeing as this was an after lunch trip. Pollen Street Social is a great example of how cocktails don’t need to be colorful with wedges of fruit hanging out of them, and that they can be drunk in smart surroundings.
