With a Sunday lunch, or first thing on a Saturday morning when you’re still feeling the effects of the night before, or even whilst in a meeting. The classic Bloody Mary is perfect for anytime of the day. Now I’m not saying a big glass of tomato juice on its own is in anyway refreshing or even tasty, but chuck in some hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish and anything else to help give it a kick. Wedge in a stick of celery, a slice of lemon and good helping of vodka and it all works.

The Bloody Mary is a classic cocktail to go with a roast dinner, but its struggled to find its place of an evening in a low lit cocktail bar. But that hasn’t stopped people from trying. Talented Mr Fox at One Leicester Square are serving theirs with pig’s blood, black pudding and bacon powder.

So when your next feeling not of this world, order up a Bloody Mary, extra spicy and you’ll be ready to repeat it all over again in no time at all.
