Collection of the Week
In the name of God and Hellfire who would collect those strange little pamphlets that hit our doormats and sit in the windows of yellowing community centres? Jim Linderman apparently. He runs a blog ‘Dim Bulb Dull Tool’ which documents the more interesting of his finds, which is now to released as a book ‘Old Time Religion’. With graphics as bold as their moral message they make good viewing. Heres are the finest and funniest:

A Little Stanger
We learnt this week that Tom Hanks is an avid Typewriter collector with over 200 portable, manual typewriters in his collection, most of which work. It came to our attention in a news article which reported Hanks was snared into appearing in a podcast for Nerdist Industries when they sent him a typewritten invitation to appear on the show along with a 1934 Corona typewriter. Googleing Tom Hanks and typewriter a few minutes later revealed a wonderful love affair between man and QWERTY. His collection spans from the 1930’s until the end of production, and he reportedly always travels with at least one (a report his twitter feed seems to confirm).
